Every summer, we’re fortunate to welcome bright, driven interns who bring fresh perspectives and energy to Graham Media Partners. This year, two talented students joined our team and quickly made an impact, diving into projects, learning the ins and outs of agency life, and gaining firsthand experience in marketing and communications.
Below, they’ve shared their reflections on what their internships meant to them, from lessons learned to favorite moments along the way.
Kevin Caffrey — West Chester University, Class of ‘25
My name is Kevin Caffrey, and this summer I was an intern at Graham Media Partners. As a rising senior at West Chester University set to graduate this fall with a B.S. in Marketing, I came into this role eager to learn and ready to give it my all. Over the past few months, I’ve not only deepened my understanding of the marketing industry, but I’ve also discovered how much I enjoy the collaborative and creative environment that the Graham team has built. From contributing to strategy layouts to seeing finished projects come to life, each experience has furthered my love for the field. Within my time here, my knowledge of the industry and my love for the work have grown exponentially.
Since joining the Graham team in May, I have worked on numerous projects and have gotten a hands-on look at what the marketing and financial services landscape entails, which I am incredibly grateful for. Everything has been a learning experience and has better prepared me for what’s to come. This would not have been possible without the incredible support and guidance from my colleagues.
From day one, the team welcomed me into the office with open arms and created a space that made it comfortable to try new things. Throughout the summer, I worked firsthand with multiple clients, assisted with coordinating website and social media audits, conducted industry research, and helped to construct social posts, ads, videos, and websites. A decent amount of my time was spent constructing website layouts, managing social accounts, creating visual content, and collaborating to create important and diverse strategies for each client. Coming from a classroom setting, it was intimidating to apply all of the topics I had been studying to actual industry work. However, the team gave me a space to grow as well as a helping hand for whatever questions I had.
With that being said, one of my favorite parts of working at Graham has been the hard-working and driven individuals who are just as kind as they are intelligent. From the clients to my colleagues, everyone I have had the pleasure of connecting with has been welcoming. Each person at Graham brings a unique personality, and their commitment to the company and its values creates a strong sense of community. The work ethic that everyone applies every day is truly admirable and is something that I will continue to apply to my practices throughout my future career.
I am extremely grateful for the time, dedication, and opportunities that Graham has offered me and look forward to applying the lessons learned to my work and carrying that advice with me everywhere I go.
Maddie Evans — Rollins College, Class of ‘27
My name is Maddie Evans, and this summer I was an intern for Graham Media Partners. As my summer internship at Graham has come to an end, I’ve been reflecting on what an amazing and rewarding experience the past few months have been. I strengthened and gained skills within the marketing field that I am excited to take on with me in my career.
At the start of my internship, my learning objectives were to gain digital marketing experience, understand financial trends and content, and expand my communication skills. Through meeting with clients, researching trends, learning how to collaborate, posting and reviewing social media, and even event planning, I met all of these goals and learned more than I expected. With the guidance from the team, I learned to work independently on projects and tasks.
I learned to serve many roles in this internship that have deepened my understanding of marketing within the financial industry. One of my favorite responsibilities was learning how to use Mailchimp to send an internal newsletter to the team. Every week, I would research marketing trends, financial news, and social media updates, and put them into a digestible format to keep the team updated and informed. It taught me how to research effectively and how to keep up with the fast-paced industry. Another highlight was helping to plan a 30th anniversary party for GTM, one of our clients, and being able to see the planning come to life.
I have to say that the best part of this internship was the collaborative and supportive environment. The team is extremely dynamic and creative, which fosters an environment for genuine culture. I always felt like part of the team, and my contributions were valued through asking questions, bouncing ideas, and offering suggestions. Every person has a huge presence in this company, and it was inspiring seeing it all come together to create impactful work for our clients. The connections that I made only made the workday even better.
Thank you to the Graham team for not only giving me valuable experience but also new mentors and connections. This summer was an important step in my career, and I look forward to applying everything that I have learned.
